Can someone please explain what’s actually BAD about the new legends rules? I mean, I kinda think it’s awesome AND that it makes a bit more sense without being overly complicated (ie Niv can attack Niv ~~(which could already happen anyway)~~ even though that doesn’t make much if any sense, but this is a game after all)

It’s the same with Slivers, although there is actually a good past basis for people being worried there, whereas the last time they changed the legends rule everything got better.

Basically, why can’t everyone just playtest new things before declaring them broken/bad?

I’ve been wanting to write something for a while, and well. This is what I wrote.

Second Sunrise

I’ve been waiting for a sunrise to peek over the horizon

Watching to feel that sting as the sun overrides my eyes

Aching to feel the light glaze my skin like so much honey

Of course all this time it’s been nothing but dark

But memories have been enough to keep me warm

I’ve been tossing each one to the fire in my heart

Watching the edges blur as the scents burn away,

As the sights drizzle into meaningless swirls

And as the sounds meld into howls of crackling flame

I sigh as I toss another moment to the dying inferno,

It’s tongues wagging weakly as jaws snap at the new sustenance

Hopefully I won’t be wasting anymore of my time waiting

I’ve given so much to keep the fire burning

That it’s all I have left, beyond the soot and ashes

When did my life become this?

This endless trial of standing, burning the soul from my mind

Until I’m a husk of blackened ash just hoping for a sunrise

Now I’m just staring at the sky, tracing the dancing embers

Of my past, as they skitter and waltz. Leaving trails

Of glowing light.

My light

My heart

My soul

I suppose I’m fading away now. Having given everything I was

I just have one memory now, the reminder of regret

Regret that I wasted so much time using my memories to fuel

Hope

To fuel a fire that burned out of nothing

I suppose I should have walked toward the horizon, chased the sun I dreamed of instead of waiting for it to come to me. Now I realise that nothing comes to those wait for it.

Heaven helps those who help themselves, so I crack the glassy ash

My shield of history tinkling and shattering with the force

Of a thousand sunrises, bursting over the empty horizon

Filling my empty world with light

For I will not go quietly into the night.

And now my heart begins to beat

A hummingbird in my chest for the first time

The anticipation greater now that I know the goal

The excitement greater for the prize I have already tasted

And with that decision, with my resolve tempered

The sun rises…

But is it really patriarchially fueled to want it to have a gender neutral name? I mean feminism was a very accurate name for the original movement which was entirely based on increasing women’s rights and really just ignored the fact that men were just as oppressed (even though they were infinitely better off)

However nowadays, while women are achieving greater and greater status, men are still caged in the same oppressive stereotypes, even by those who are expecting them to change.
